Leather + 2 hours of open bar?! I'm so there!

As many of you know, I’ve been less than satisfied with the social choices available on Friday nights, but some promoters had put together a pool party at Grace Hotel, which was perfectly timed with the week that DR!P was cancelled for a private party. A bunch of us agreed to meet up at Rockit for the open bar before walking down to Grace Hotel.

As I was waiting to get my second pair of drinks (it gets crowded… double-fisting = efficient), I looked over to my right and saw Clay Aiken* next to me. He played it really cool and even ignored a trying-to-be-subtle-so-he-doesn’t-get-bum-rushed “Clay?!” I didn’t get a picture of him, but it was funny to see him trying to blend into the crowd.

Around 11:30, we made our way down 7th ave clapping and belting out the church remix of “Single Ladies”. We didn’t notice the expensive restaurant with mostly outdoor seating til we were already past it.

We walked in to find Adam4Adam in a pool, and it was wonderful.

There was even a white guy or two.

A new face that evening was the French friend of France Pants (who stayed out much longer than France Pants did). Apparently, he had won the hot body contest at Therapy earlier in the week, but he was wearing a shirt and tie when I met him. Honey, once we got to the pool, saw exactly why he won.

Take notes, boys. Take notes.

After the water-logged adventure, we ended the night at Posh with a topless pop dance off.

What's this Facebook is telling me? Leather + 2 hours of open bar?! I'm so there!

Saturday's F Word party was doing a Folsom-Street-East theme. I met MicHELLe at Santos Party house around 10:15, and he was right at the front of the line, which wasn't moving. In fact, it didn't move for the first 10 minutes we were out there. We were finally directed downstairs where the two of us wandered down a twisting hallway that ended at coat check. Where was the party? Behind a set of double doors that was CLOSED. Gay night @ straight club.

It took a while for the crowd to grow. In fact, we barely had to wait for drinks (from a very hot, scantily clad bartender) until the last half hour.

"I remember you guys performing "Single Ladies" at that rooftop party! Are you guys professional dancers?"

MicHELLe after the random walked away: "That's like the 3rd person this week that's commented on us dancing at that party!"
Me: "As many times as we've done it before! Too bad the HX award nominations already happened. We could have been nominated as one of those party personalities like Petey the Pig!"

We didn't see very many people getting into the spirit of the party. I only saw one guy in a harness, and we started talking to him and his 6'10" bear of a boyfriend, who had quite a lengthy convo with MicHELLe about cooking or some other domestic activity. Then, we somehow got to talking to a couple of guys in a band called The Johns that was set to perform at Folsom Street East the next day.

Around 12:30, the lot of us took a VERY long walk from TriBeCa to DTox around 1. When I left MicHELLe, he was putting the charm sauce on one of the band members. I proceeded to SoHo Crush's place where I spent no less than 10 minutes trying to open his neighbor's door with his key.

Did I mention it was open bar that night? I did? Oh, yeah.

Does anyone still do Christmas in July? Let's give it a try: click here for a Holiday party.

Note: you may find the "Topics of Discussion" on the right and the Cast of Characters to be of help in navigating this blog.

*Okay, so it may have been a Gayken look-alike, but low lighting + no makeup + NYC = close enough for me.
